JST is currently seeking a Clinical and Psychology Research SME to interface with our government customer and convert professional input into aeromedical policy, assessment and waiver process for airmen aeromedically disqualified aircrew, remote warfare, and special warfare operations.

Clinical and Psychology Research SME Responsibilities

  • Provide government customer required research paperwork, with the appropriate IRB approval for conducting research, as well as provide a relevant scientific literature and participate in related discussions with research staff
  • Report results and outcomes of survey data for operational Commanders, USAFSAM/FESP Research staff, 25th AF CC and SG, as well as MAJCOM and HAF agencies
  • Identify critical areas for improvement in research methodology, goals, presentations, and technical reports, as well as variables of relational significance to potential performance problems, or medical difficulties based upon data gathered
  • Design and modify health screening measures, as needed, in support of research goals
  • Write/create solid, well-written, full drafts of all research papers and presentations and edit drafts at the requirement of government leadership
  • Design an annual strategic plan, in consultation with the principal investigator and branch staff
  • Assist in the planning of research objectives outlined

Clinical and Psychology Research SME Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Must possess an active state license to practice Clinical Psychology
  • Graduate course work and experience in clinical research design and development, and in writing published peer reviewed Behavioral Science research reports
  • 5 or more years of experience in Behavioral Science research, working with active duty and DoD military personnel
  • 5 or more years of experience as a USAF active-duty officer, serving in the capacity of a licensed psychologist providing mental health care to USAF personnel
  • Experience drafting official USAF technical reports and scholarly, peer-reviewed journal publications in Behavioral Science
  • Experience conducting and publishing behavioral science research with USAF aircrew, intelligence, or special duty operators
